Dad

9 drawings, Ink on parchment, 45cm x 31cm each. Dad is the story of my father who was deeply affected by my brothers death in a car accident. Dad consists of nine consecutive drawings. The technique is ink on parchment. These choices were intentional, the nine representing the nine months of pregnancy and technique and materials following the traditional work of the sofer stam (scribe). Dad is a blend of the personal and universal. It is simple yet dramatic in its delivery, much like the biblical attitude to storytelling. It is contemporary and specific, yet timeless. It exists on the level of simple storytelling, yet it contains deeper secrets and commentary
